Immersive Inpatient Care

Residential Treatment in Orange County, CA

Structured Healing Environment

Rebuilding Your Foundation

Residential treatment at Chelsea Manor is where the deeper work happens. Detox settles the body. This is the part that gets at the why. You live here full time, with a set daily routine and support close at hand. Together we look at what drives the addiction, and you build coping skills that hold up once you go home.

Our care mixes proven therapy with whole-person wellness. You meet one on one with your therapist. You join group sessions with peers. You take part in hands-on activities like art, music, and movement. Each piece has a job. Together they help you see your patterns, work through old pain, and build the skills that keep you sober.

You live in a comfortable bedroom in our home in Orange, California. Our chef makes the meals. The days follow a calm rhythm. You share the house with a small group of peers who know what you are going through. That mix of comfort and company is what makes real change possible.

Structure & Rhythm

A Typical Day

Structure is one of the strongest tools in early recovery. Our daily schedule balances therapy with rest, good food, and time to yourself. Here is how a normal day tends to unfold.

7:00 AM

Morning Wellness

The day starts slow, with gentle movement and quiet time. You can choose yoga, meditation, stretching, or a walk around the grounds. Breakfast follows. Starting this way sets a calm tone for the harder work later in the day.

9:30 AM

Group Therapy

A licensed clinician leads each group. It is a safe place to share, listen, and practice how you deal with other people. You learn from peers who get it. Topics rotate week to week and cover CBT, DBT, relapse prevention, and open process groups. You are never forced to speak before you are ready.

1:00 PM

Individual Session

You meet alone with your own therapist in a private, confidential room. This is where you work on the things that are hard to say in a group. Each session follows your treatment plan. The work may cover past trauma, changing thought patterns, or finding your own reasons to stay sober.

3:00 PM

Holistic Activities

Afternoons are hands-on. You might do art therapy, music therapy, breathwork, a nature walk, or a fitness session. These are not filler. They give the mind and body new ways to work through what came up in therapy, and many people find their words here first.

7:00 PM

Evening Reflection

The day ends with a guided reflection or a peer support group. It is a chance to sort through what the day brought up, name what went well, and settle before bed. If you would rather be alone, you can journal or take quiet time instead. Lights out comes early on purpose.

Your Experience

What's Included

Our residential program covers everything you need, so you can put all of your focus on recovery. No errands, no bills to juggle, no daily noise pulling at you.

Comfortable Bedrooms

Each bedroom is well furnished, with good bedding and space for your things. Private rooms are open based on need and what we have free at the time. This is a home, not a ward. Every room is built for rest, which your body needs as much as therapy.

Chef-Prepared Meals

Food plays a real role in healing. Our kitchen staff cooks three balanced meals a day, plus snacks, from fresh ingredients. We work around allergies, health needs, and what you like to eat. Many people find their sleep and energy return once they eat well again.

Individual Therapy

Regular one-on-one sessions with a licensed therapist form the core of your plan. We use proven methods such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, motivational interviewing, and trauma-focused care. Your therapist picks the approach that fits you and your goals, then adjusts it as you go.

Group Sessions

Daily group sessions give you peers who hold you to your word and learn beside you. Skilled clinicians lead every group. Topics include relapse prevention, how to speak up and listen, how to handle strong feelings, and the ideas behind step-based recovery.

Planning Ahead

Preparing for Life After Treatment

Residential treatment is not the end of the road. It is the base that lasting change gets built on. Throughout your stay, your care team works with you on an aftercare plan. That plan spells out what your first weeks back at home will look like, so the day you leave is not a leap into the unknown.

We set you up with outpatient providers, support groups near your home, and our alumni team. Nobody leaves Chelsea Manor without a clear plan and names to call.

There is no single answer. Residential stays often run from a few weeks to a few months. The right length depends on how long you used, your health, and how you respond to care. Your team reviews your progress each week. You are always part of the talk before your plan changes.

In most cases, yes. Family visits and family therapy sessions are part of care when they support your recovery. Your therapist will talk with you about the right time and set the ground rules first. Some people need a few weeks to settle in before visits begin. Call us to ask about current practice.

Detox handles the physical side. It clears the drugs from your body and keeps you safe while withdrawal passes, and it usually takes about a week. Residential treatment comes next and lasts much longer. It deals with why the use started, through daily therapy, group work, and new coping skills.
